Something I can’t stop thinking about: what Americans are being asked to endure, and how long they’ll have to keep resisting.
There’s a quote that keeps echoing for me… it speaks to this exact kind of long, weary resistance:
First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out…
Because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Socialists… the trade unionists… the Jews.
And I did not speak out. Because I was not one of them.
Then they came for me… and there was no one left to speak for me.
We’ve all seen these words. Quoted, posted, shouted. They’ve become a symbol of conscience – of the cost of silence.
But these famous lines weren’t a sermon. They were a confession. A reckoning from someone who realized too late that silence is never neutral.

Martin Niemöller wasn’t a lifelong activist. He was a Lutheran pastor who supported Hitler at first, believing he’d protect the Church from leftists and secularism.
He trusted the regime. Until it turned on him. Niemöller spent seven years in Nazi concentration camps. He survived, but changed.
From That Warning to This Moment
I’m over here in Portugal, soaked and watching, living through torrential rains, flooding, gale-force winds, and a rising political tide of its own.
André Ventura, our Trump-lite, is gaining traction. White nationalists are emboldened.
And still, somehow, my life here feels like a reprieve compared to what so many in the U.S. are enduring.
Because those of you there are not just weathering storms, you’re inside the eye of a political one that doesn’t let up. Watching fundamental rights get shredded. Trying to hold onto truth and humanity in a country actively punishing both.
I see the people who are in the thick of it:
- Protesting
- Organizing mutual aid
- Showing up for their communities, exhausted and undeterred
And I also see those who aren’t on the front lines in other parts of the country – but are wide awake.
Not in the headlines, but holding their breath. Watching it unfold. Wondering how close the collapse will come. People who aren’t sure what to do, but know this isn’t normal, and it isn’t okay.
But just because you’re not in the fire doesn’t mean you’re not burning out.
Some of that quiet burnout is really anger and childhood wounds we have learned to call exhaustion, and those parts deserve Emotional Liberation And Healing.
So I ask myself, what can I do from here to support your emotional liberation and healing?
Not from the center of this soul-wearing storm, but from the edge… watching, feeling, and aching with all of you.
I can’t deliver supplies or organize mutual aid on the ground. I can’t march beside you, and I can’t stop the unraveling. But what I can do is something simple.
I can offer an opportunity to help in the one way I know how from here… by offering complimentary online Elevation Ceremonies to support people who are navigating fear, grief, anger, confusion. Or just the toll of daily overwhelm.
These are grounded gatherings where we come together online to settle the nervous system, reconnect with the body, and make space for releasing the out of control emotions that you’ve been holding too long.
This Is the Reset You Didn’t Know You Needed
This isn’t a fix. It’s not a cure. It’s a pause. A ceremony. A place to release what’s been held too tightly and to reconnect with what’s still whole.
Because whether you’re screaming in the streets or silently absorbing it all from the sidelines, you deserve a space to reset, emotionally, physically, spiritually.
An online place where you don’t have to keep pretending you’re fine. Where grief, rage, numbness, confusion… they’re all welcome.
You do not have to force your way through layers of shame and guilt before you show up. You only need to let your body soften, no matter what childhood wounds and silence taught you about having to hold it all together. Sometimes the most powerful step is simply giving yourself a safe place to rest.
Resistance through restoration
Niemöller’s words weren’t written in hindsight to shame people. They were written so we’d stop waiting.
So we’d stop assuming someone else will speak up.
Or that we are safe because the fire hasn’t reached our doorstep yet.
We’re all in this. The organizers. The watchers. The worriers. The tired. The awakening.
And we all need places to land. To feel. To exhale.
That’s why I hold these Elevation Ceremonies. It’s what I’ve been doing for more than a decade now.
🌿 It’s free. Because you’ve already paid enough in energy and effort.
🌿 It’s gentle. Because you’re already carrying enough.
🌿 It’s sacred. Because you are.
So I invite you to register here (as many of you know, amplifying with a little cannabis is always optional!).
And the ceremony is always recorded if you can’t make our live time together or you want to revisit these powerful mood-altering practices repeatedly (which I highly recommend!).
With Love,
Becca
