Emotional liberation: the practice of freeing yourself

Something brought you here… and you probably know what it is. Something in you is ready - otherwise you wouldn't be reading this. The Anxiety that won't stay managed. The Grief that resurfaces years later. Seething Anger. The reaction that feels too big for the moment. You've tried talking about it, thinking your way through it, pushing past it. And still, something underneath remains unmoved. There's a reason nothing has fully worked. And it has nothing to do with your effort. You were never taught what your emotions are actually for. We were told they were problems to manage, weaknesses to overcome, inconveniences to push through. But every difficult emotion - the Anger, the Fear, the Shame, the Depression - is carrying information. It is trying to complete something. And when you learn to work with it rather than against it, it becomes medicine rather than poison.

Emotional Liberation

Go Deeper

We have all been hurt. Every one of us is recovering from something. It might be what happened in childhood, a wound so old it feels like personality rather than pain. It might be something more recent – a betrayal, a loss, a moment that landed harder than anyone around you understood.

Painful experiences take pieces of us. Innocence. Confidence. The quiet sense that we are fundamentally safe in the world.

But here is what I know to be true, from my own life and from witnessing it again and again in others: we are built to recover. The capacity to heal is not something you have to acquire. It is already in you. It is your birthright. Emotional Liberation® is the method I use to help you access it.

Behind the Science

Emotional Liberation is not a concept. It is a method – one that the research is catching up to.

The ACE study established a direct link between unresolved emotional experience and long-term physical and mental health outcomes. What doesn’t get processed doesn’t disappear. It reorganises. A 2023 meta-analysis of 61 randomised controlled trials found that practices integrating intentional movement with inner awareness consistently reduce difficult emotional states across diverse populations, pointing toward the body as the missing piece in most conventional treatment.

The neuroscience of trauma confirms what this method has always held: that patterns don’t live in the mind alone. They live in the nervous system, in the tissues, in the body’s learned responses to threat and overwhelm. Talking about them is rarely enough.

But the evidence base is only part of the picture. Emotional Liberation draws equally on yogic science and esoteric teachings and practices that have understood the architecture of human suffering and healing for thousands of years. The chakras, the nadis, the energetic body. Systems of inner knowledge that predate the randomized controlled trial by millennia, and that point toward the same truths the research is now beginning to confirm.

My role is to hold both: the peer-reviewed and the ancient, and bring them to bear on the very specific, very human experience of the person in front of me.

Psilocybin enhances cued fear extinction and extinction recall in stress-naive, acutely stressed, and chronically stressed subjects

Psilocybin enhanced the brain’s ability to unlearn fear responses across stress-naive, acutely stressed, and chronically stressed conditions, suggesting it may support fear processing even in individuals with trauma or chronic stress histories.

A preclinical study tested psilocybin's effect on fear extinction across three stress conditions in mice: no stress, acute stress (a PTSD model), and chronic stress. Psilocybin enhanced fear extinction and extinction recall across all conditions, suggesting its potential to help the brain unlearn fear responses even under chronic or traumatic stress -- with direct relevance to PTSD and anxiety treatment.

The efficacy of psychotherapeutic interventions for prolonged grief disorder: A systematic review

A systematic review of 30 RCTs found that psychotherapeutic interventions for prolonged grief disorder produce meaningful improvements, with experiential approaches combining exposure, EMDR, and mindfulness showing particular promise for trauma-related grief — pointing toward the need for personalized, body-inclusive treatment models

A systematic review of 30 randomized controlled trials (2011-2024) examining treatments for Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) -- a newly recognized diagnosis in ICD-11 and DSM-5-TR affecting between 9.8% and 34.3% of bereaved people. CBT emerged as the most effective and versatile approach. Innovations combining CBT with mindfulness, exposure therapy, or EMDR showed particular promise for trauma-related grief. Alternative interventions including music therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy showed potential but require further research. The authors note limited generalizability due to predominantly white, female, high-income study samples.

Testimonials

People come to this work from everywhere, from London flats and Canadian farmhouses, from corporate burnout and spiritual crisis, from first ceremonies and tenth sessions. Some choose to be on camera. Some don’t. But every one of them has something truthful to say about what happened when they stopped managing and started liberating.

It's the integration part of it that really makes the plant medicines work.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly do people notice a difference?+

The timeline varies. Some people feel a significant shift early in the work. For others – particularly those for whom trauma has been a lifelong companion, woven through early experiences and repeated wounds – the work is slower, more layered, and asks for more patience. Thats not a limitation. Thats the nature of healing something that runs this deep.

What I can tell you is that the capacity for change doesnt have an expiration date.

If youre wondering whether working with me is a good fit for you, the best next step is a complimentary Discovery Session . Youll complete a client intake form first, then well meet on Zoom to explore whats possible.
